Experimental Investigation of Seismic Performance of a Hybrid Beam–Column Connection in a Precast Concrete Frame

Prefabricated beam–column connections are the most vulnerable components of prefabricated buildings during earthquake events. The seismic performance connection is functional as critical component plays a key role in structural safety. This study aimed to develop novel hybrid concrete (HPC) connection, combining with wet and dry techniques, enhance frames. A quasi-static experimental investigation was carried out examine proposed connection. Two full-scale specimens utilizing HPC another code-defined monolithic (PC) were tested under cyclic loading, keeping axial load on column constant. ductility, stiffness degradation, energy dissipation capacity, post-tensioned force, residual displacement obtained based output. results indicated that developed had high construction efficiency better than conventional PC strength capacity significantly improved by up 52% 10%, respectively. cracking degradation well-controlled.
